DON´T GO DOWN THE "GOD, FULFILL MY DREAMS“ - PATH OF MODERN CHRISTIANITY - IT WILL WRECK YOUR SPIRITUAL WALK

I have met many frustrated Christians who somehow have become bitter towards God, oftentimes because they got disappointed because "their dreams“ haven’t come true or "the door“ hasn’t opened. At some point one has to question whether they are actually following Jesus or if they are trying to get God to follow them. God is not here to fulfill our dreams, we are here to serve Him - as beloved sons and daughters of God.

One of the most freeing things to understand in this day and age is that it is absolutely, totally, so not about you. If you really understand this, you will not be jealous of anyone, you will not play those little games that keep you stuck and unfocused, and you also understand that its not about your little dreams coming true.

Is it ok to dream with God - absolutely - but the problem arises when dreams are miles away from the purposes of God. You probably know what I will say next - that it is all about souls, but I do believe it is important to have God-dreams. But what do you do when you had a "dream“ and it didn’t come to pass. Are you giving up on Jesus now? I know people who don’t follow Jesus anymore simply because they got disappointed. I think that they have left the narrow road of truth, self-examination and discipleship. Their dreams have gotten out of hand and they have forgotten that they belong to Jesus because He has purchased them with a price.

I am reminded of a story of an old revivalist who said on his death bed to the last soul he pointed to Christ..
“Keith, my boy.. when you walk out of this door you will be a soul winner.. or I doubt you have been saved.. you will be incapable of keeping quite having received such love and salvation from eternal damnation.. if you keep quiet about it you might as well go out and commit sacrilege, it would be so even.. you will be a soul winner, compassionately driven to point people to Christ for the rest of your life, or I doubt that you have been saved”

No, it doesn’t mean that you have to sell everything and become an evangelist now, if this is too strong for you, let me just tell you that denying yourself, taking up your cross and following the Lord is the most fulfilling thing you can experience in this life. The yoke which is light and the experience of the life of God is on the other side of self-denial.

God bless you,
